Mining in the Classroom is Arizona’s hub for mining education resources and career-connected learning opportunities, bringing together educator support, classroom resources, and student experiences in one place. The program helps educators connect students to real-world learning through lessons, hands-on experiences, industry connections, and career exploration.
If it can’t be grown, it must be mined. From the copper that powers our technology to the materials that build our communities, mining provides the essential resources that make modern life possible. Through Mining in the Classroom, students discover the innovation, technology, environmental stewardship, and career opportunities that shape Arizona’s mining industry.
Lesson Plans
